 Hello everyone and welcome back,

We are so excited to get into the 2011-2012 school year and have your child attending our school this year.  Our goal this year is to ensure that we provide your child the highest quality education that is possible.  We have a very dedicated staff who is concerned about ensuring that your child receives the best academic education possible.  Our staff expects a lot of students and we find that students rise to the expectations of adults. We really do appreciate your helping your child after school with the learning process. 

A major concern of mine is that we have a nation so focused upon academic success that we are forgetting a number of different areas of instruction.  What I am talking about is making sure that your child is exposed to the fine arts, physical education and technology.  The other important component that is often overlooked is the development of your child’s social skills.  Children need to learn how to work and interact with other people and accomplish their goals. A lot of social skills are taught in the classroom and the interaction of students on the playground.   In the business world the research confirms that around 80% to 85% fired from jobs is because the person did not have social skills and could not work with other people.  It has shown that one factor that helps people get promotions in their jobs is good social skills.     At Sawtooth our goal is to have children that are well rounded in all aspects of their education.
