Dear Parent or Guardian,
Welcome to you and your incoming kindergarten student! We are excited to have you here at Sawtooth Elementary with us!
You may already be aware that the Twin Falls School District now offers FULL DAY, as well as HALF DAY, Kindergarten in each of our buildings. In an effort to balance classes academically and behaviorally, we will have a “Rolling Start” to Kindergarten at Sawtooth from August 16th - Aug. 22nd. All enrolled kindergarten students for the fall of 2023 will come to school for 3 hours to begin.
- The AM section will run daily from 8:00AM to 11:00 AM.
- The PM section will run from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM (Wednesday- Friday)
- ALL STUDENTS WILL ATTEND Monday, August 21st and Tuesday, August 22nd from 8:00am - 11:00 am. During those 3 hours your student will participate in various prekindergarten activities. They will also complete an academic screening as they get used to being at school.
- Regular Kindergarten Schedule begins Wednesday, August 23rd
- Half Day: 8:00-11:00AM
- Full Day: 8:00am-3:00pm
Students that participate in the AM section are welcome to eat breakfast. However, Kindergarten students will NOT eat lunch at school August 16th - August 22nd. Please plan accordingly.
Once your child is placed in a classroom, they will be asked to come to an Open House on August 22nd.
They will bring their school supplies at that time. No supplies are needed during the Rolling Start. However, please make sure they bring a water bottle DAILY.
